Are you trying to lose some weight? It doesn't have to be a difficult thing to do, but you should figure out how to work some heart-healthy, cardiovascular activities into your routine. And it can be fun if you want it to be.

The best of the best in cardio workouts is swimming. This really uses every part of your body, inside and out. It is even great for people who are compromised, because it is low-impact.

This is why it is especially useful for people with bone-density problems or joint disease, for example. Elderly people are useful for this. Swimming is a total-body workout that burns off more calories than anything else.

Of course, just basic walking is great too. You can get a good cardiovascular workout by just taking a brisk stroll around the block or around your neighborhood. You might not burn off as much fat or calories as in the swimming pool, or "piscina" as they call it in Spain, but you can do a good job of it.

Now, this might not be enough for the more physically fit among you. If this describes you, then you need to get up and get jogging. Try it, it's great. It burns the fat off your body like nothing else. You also manage to get your heart rate up. But it's not for everybody.

So, what if none of this works for you? You could also hop on a bike. This will save you transportation money as well as get your heart rate up and burn off fat and calories. Start out slow; bike to the store if you would like to. This is a good way to start.

People who want to be a little more social, they can do something that requires teams, such as basketball or tennis. These are both games requiring a whole lot of motion and activity. They keep you moving and in shape.

Tennis is really great also, for the workout it gives to your upper body and torso, and it requires a whole range of different movements. Of course, it also requires you to interact with your friends while you are keeping your heart in good shape.

Seriously, get a move on and you can be healthy and happy today.
